Originality / 1969 Z/28 oil pressure line
August 16, 2019, 11:29:14 AM
Does a 69 Z/28 with a console and gauges also get an idiot light  sending unit along with the plastic line? There is a unit on Ebay showing a copper/brass nipple with a brass block with the oil line fitting and oil sending unit as an assembly. The person said he removed it from a 69 Z/28 with console gauges where the idiot lights in dash and console gauges both worked.

Could this be something GM offered as over the counter parts to people who wanted to add a console to their camaro?

thanks for the help.

Sam

Originality / 1969 Z/28 manual steering rag joint
January 20, 2019, 01:16:52 PM
Do all the assembly line "manual" rag joints (#7806391) come with the ground strap? I have the original one on my 69 Z that needs to be replaced. I see some NOS ones with and some without the ground strap for sale. My Z/28 is an 11D of 68 car if that matters.

Thanks,  Sam

Originality / Lug nuts
January 11, 2010, 07:32:35 PM
What were the lug nut stampings for a 69 camaro, nova, chevelle etc. Did most have the RBW or waffle stampings on the top? Also did all the 69 camaros have the static suppressors/metalcoils in the grease cap hub or was that only for AM radios or deluxe interior cars?  Thanks,  Sam

Is the rubber gromet on the drivers side (PCV valve) angle cut or round like the other side? Also assembly line PCV valve, does it have AC Spark Plug on it or just something like AC 105? The PCV valve also had a D underneath on the plunger that moves. Thanks,  Sam

Decoding/Numbers / 1969 Z/28 5 leaf rear springs
September 20, 2008, 11:28:07 AM
If a 69 Z/28 came with the optional 5 leaf rear springs would they still have the Z/28 yellow (BM) code tag or would they have the BB 5 leaf code tag which I believe is a yellow (BK) code tag?  Thanks,  Sam

Originality / 1969 Z/28 heater hose bracket
August 17, 2008, 09:27:49 PM
Do all the 69 Z/'s have the bracket that bolts to the top of the alternator for the 2 heater hoses? I saw 2 survivor 69 Z/s that did not have them and my 1969 SS nova small block survivor does not either. I don't think the brackets were just left off or missing because the hole in the alternator bracket was not cut by the screw/bolt threads.  Thanks,  Sam

Originality / 1969 Z/28 springs
December 28, 2006, 12:39:17 PM
My car has 5 leafs in the rear. The shock plates, shackles and bushings look to be all original. As I was cleaning the springs, toward the front on the top long spring there was a stenciled number in white. Can't make out the number but the last digit looks like it is O. Any way I can tell if these springs are original equipment or not?  Thanks,  Sam

I have an (11D) of 68 Z/28. The radiator is the CB code with the ( L) date and my bumper jack is stamped (8L) the car also has no proportinate valve for the brakes under the seat. Has original brake line still. Can I assume these to be all correct for my car? Thanks,  Sam

Decoding/Numbers / 1968 302 crankshafts
January 09, 2006, 12:26:59 PM

Originality / 1969 Z/28 fuel line bracket
January 04, 2006, 07:06:27 PM
Does the early 69 Z's have the fuel line bracket that bolts to the back right carb stud and wraps around the back carb fuel line? Car is 11(D) of 68. If so the repops are silver clad. Is that the right color? I have a feeling they may have been black oxide??? Thanks,  Sam
