Not every child is fortunate to have a car guy for a father. Happy Day!!!

Well, it took a couple of years, but the article on my 68 as a driver is the September - October issue of Antique Automobile.  Also, I wrote an article in August on the AACA's Oral History Project for the Speedster (an email magazine) and it has my CRG avatar picture with it.  Unfortunately, you have to be an AACA member to see it, so I'm going to try and post a couple pf pictures.

Well. COVID restrictions strike again. Due to large gathering restrictions, the Charlotte Autofair, April 8-10, has been canceled.  A joint press release from the Speedway  and HNR is being sent out today.

Well, another one bites the dust...
The Fall Charlotte Autofair has been canceled. Still no large crowds in NC.
Several have asked me about  it.

Anyone showing, judging or both?
I'll be there with the 68, judging and serving as Meet Chair.
Will be in the Show Field Tent out front. Stop in on Thursday or Friday if you come early.
Several Camaros already signed up in HP class.

The Charlotte Autofair is April 2-5. 
Let me know if you are coming.  I'll be out at the AACA show field at the front of the Speedway. 

The AACA National Meeting is in Philadelphia next week. Anyone else going?
Darrell Page and I are doing a seminar on Z28s 1967-2002 on that Friday morning.
Just checking to see if I need to watch for any of you.  If you are, stop by the HNR Auto Fair booth, I'll be there most of the time.

July 12, 10th Classic Car Appreciation Day
Steele Rubber, which is near me, is holding an event that day. And there is one in Mathews, NC the next day. Anyone planning to attend a SEMA CCAD?

There are 16 Camaros and Chevelles in the HP  class next Saturday, including a Yenko Camaro.

The North Carolina House is considering reducing antique tag qualifications from 35 years to 25 years. The qualifications will contain use limits to curb misuse. Are there many other states that offer 25 year antique tags?

The Autofair starts this Thursday, and I'm glad to report that the number of cars in the Car Corral has increased. Maybe restoration is making a comeback in the SE.
The AACA  Nationals will be on Saturday.  Lots of Camaros and Chevelles in 36b high performance class.
As usual I'll be out front in the show field tent. Stop by if you are there.

We've been invited to give a presentation on First Generation Camaros at the AACA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in February.

I'm searching for a decent picture of a L26 engine for a program for our local club. Please post, and thanks in advance.

Who is Celebrating this SEMA "holiday"?
There is an AACA event in Charlotte, NC a week early on the 7th. Steele Rubber is holding an after hours cruise in on the 13th.
You can check out an event in your area (in the U.S.) on the SEMA site.
This will be the 9th annual event.
Chevy made them and we restore them to drive!

Spring Charlotte Autofair, April 5 - 8 2018.  I'll be out front in the show field tent every day.  Around a dozen HP Camaros and Chevelles signed up so far for the show on Saturday the 7th.  Pretty good vendor registration, etc.

Thought I'd post some of the Camaros from Class 36B, High Performance Chevrolet and Oldsmobile.

Highs in the 80s, lows in the 60s. Sunny all week.

Celebrate by driving one! 

If you make it to the Charlotte Autofair in April, make sure you stop by the Exhibit Area in the infield. There will be a 50th anniversary exhibit there.

We've been at the beach, but I'm driving the 68 as soon as we get home. It's very nice weather here in NC. I'll rake leaves later. 

Yesterday,. I talked with a guy who has a 68 vert. His neighbor modifies new Camaros.

Who is going?

Who is buying?
Who is showing?
Who is judging?
The Chevy/Olds HP class is shaping up to be one of the largest point judged classes with several Camaros and Chevelles.

There are dozens of CRG-ers in the greater Charlotte area, so I'm posting this info in Garage Talk.
The AACA Meet Show Field is moving to the front of the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 9th.
That means the show field would be empty the first two days of Autofair, April 7 & 8.  So, we are adding a Thursday and a Friday Cruise-In.  See the attached flyer.
Advance registration is $25, but that includes free parking (obviously) and two tickets to Autofair.
I do know from folks in the Camaro and Chevy Clubs that many like to go out on Thursday and Friday to shop for parts.  This way you can make a day of it! 

I'll be out there... (But Sorry, I cannot get you in free to that event.  )
