Restoration / 1969 RS Headlight Mechanism issues
October 24, 2021, 05:08:48 PM
Has anyone ever had this problem before? (See pics) I have my mechanisms installed and running smoothly. I went to hook up my actuators and the hole in the actuator arm and the bell crank are about a half an inch off. The actuator mount on the inner fender bar is all the way back in it's adjustment. I tried an original and reproduction actuator. Same issue. Any insight would be appreciated.

Originality / 1969 Rear brake soft line for 12 bolt
September 19, 2021, 12:13:57 PM
Does anybody have pictures of an original brake line on a car? Does it mount with the brake line as part of the rubber hose, or separate? Is the soft line supposed to screw into a brass block? Thanks!

Anybody know the latest build date seen with a walnut? My car is a 01b and has a walnut. I don't think it's the original wheel. Curious before I buy a rosewood. Thank you!

My 69 is equipped with an 8 track 4 speaker system originally. Does anyone know how the holes were punched out in an original package tray? Were they oval shaped like the speaker or were they shaped like the metal bracing of the metal package tray underneath? Thank you!

Restoration / 1969 RSSS L78 Project
December 01, 2019, 08:54:00 PM
My dad and I acquired this 1969 RSSS L78 about a year ago. I thought I'd share progress and pictures with everyone!
Restoring the car in our garage!
Car has original motor and was originally an automatic. Got converted to a 4 speed very early on.
Fathom green with a black vinyl top and green deluxe interior.
Options: Tilt, U14 gauges, fold down seat, 8 track player, and rear antenna.
Car was repainted at some point in the 70s and hasn't been painted since. Car was last on the road in 1982. Going to keep the black paint but interior is getting redone. The front end has been powder coated and the floors painted. A lot of original parts are getting rezinc plated. Restoring it original or with a little day 2 vibe.

We started with wet sanding and buffing the old paint job. Someone had put black primer all over it!
Then redid the whole front end and underside of the car. We cleaned, rebuilt, and repainted the rear end.
Now we are focusing on the interior!

Decoding/Numbers / 1969 L78 3959164-GE Holley date code
December 01, 2019, 07:57:24 PM
Picked up this carburetor body the other day in the wild and actually need it for the 1969 L78 I'm building. It has an interesting date code on it of: 1A3. Wondering if this was potentially an error? Having trouble finding another GE carb with this date. Thanks!
