2 turns is very fast. If you drive it all the time you get used to it.  But it is too fast if an emergency happens.

General Discussion / Re: ignition switch issue ???

Is the engine running on/ dieseling when the ignition is off?  Remove the wire to the + side of the coil. It should shut off immediately. If it does, then it is an electrical issue, if not it is a engine tuning issue

General Discussion / Re: '67 Vacuum Canister

The dash vents, mode and temp all are run with cables, not vacuum.  Vacuum is used for the fresh air/ recirc door in the passenger kick panel and the vent door in the right side cowl, under the cowl panel

Originality / Re: 1968 Z28 smog pump assembly

My early (10c) 68 z has a non deep groove pulley. The smog system came with the car when I bought it in 1985 from the original owner. It is correctly date coded. I will try to remember to look if it has the spacer, but I'm pretty sure it does not have the spacer.

Thanks, awesome information.
Interesting the 684 fan for AC was replaced with the 776 fan originally meant for non AC cars.

General Discussion / 68 camaro blower motor with AC
December 19, 2016, 06:01:40 PM
I daily drive my 68 camaro. I am in need of a squirrel cage for the blower motor with AC. The center aluminum hub had come loose and was noisy. I replaced the motor, thinking it was the source of the noise. When I transferred the cage I found the center hub loose. So I peened it to tighten it. I must have gotten it out of balance. I really don't want to do the job again without all the correct parts.
I have not found a vendor with a blower cage for an AC car. Some vendors say the  67-81 non ac is the same as the 67-9 ac blower motor/ cage.
Can anyone confirm the difference in blower motors or squirrel cages between ac and non ac cars?
Can I use a motor/ squirrel cage from a different vehicle?
