The NTSB has posted on their site a few reports you may find of interest on tire age vs. auto accidents based on field investigations. Now, some car manufactures are recommending changing tires after 6 to 7 years regardless of tread wear. A lot has to do with the elasticity of rubber over time regardless of wear, and leading to sudden failures, with sidewall failures being the worst. One report shows the 8-year mark of when the incidence of the tire failure trend line rose sharply.
Here is a past thread for a tire sidewall failure that was spotted only after 2 days prior to looking at the tire before I took the car out: https://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=21292.msg193983#msg193983
Though I was fortunate it was easily spotted, it shows how quickly weak areas can develop.

I believe it was JohnZ that mentioned there were 3 suppliers of fasteners, so the headmarks can be whatever was in the bin at the time, and often mixed.

Putting smaller commonly used items aside (ex: hardware, paint, wiring, etc...) how were the larger components like engines, transmissions and differentials stocked? Was there on-sight inventory or did GM adopt a just-in-time inventory delivery by then.

I have a single hole on each side for my '67. I remember John Z saying something about them being jig alignment holes to position the parts prior to welding.

Do you mean the radiator upper and lower steel tank support ends that's part of the radiator itself, or the radiator support panel?

I checked my 67 04B LOS L35/TH400 survivor and there is no clip that secures the transmission cooling lines to the oil pan.
The lines have two thin clips (see attached photos) to secure the lines to themselves.

I'll take some pics of my 67 L35 w/ original TH400. Not sure if it's the same for '68 though.

 I posted this earlier:  http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=14906.msg133073#msg133073
I have the stamps and can send them to you. The only request is you pay postage both ways. No need to pay anything extra.
These are approximately .80" compared to the larger repos that come in at 1" height.

This happened to me in 2024- http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=21292.msg194317#msg194317
In the end I just bought a new set of Coker redlines for peace of mind.
I have read there have been attempts to put in legislation to fail tires that are 7 to 8 years old if your state does yearly inspections due to sudden sidewall failures of older tires regardless of the mileage, but at least in NY, there aren't any restrictions....yet.

See reply #2 in this link.
I believe the two pictures are from an unrestored 68.

What is considered undersized? The tracings I took from my 67 had the heights around 14/16" and the repos I have seen were at 1" so I had a set made up for .85"  A previous discussion can be found here: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=14906.msg133073#msg133073

A past discussion on LOS spring and tank factory paint:   http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=11984.15
I have a few pictures of my 67 LOS survivor in that thread.

Below is a picture from a past discussion of the same car w/396 engine mount bolts facing upwards. My 67 NOR car has them facing downwards.

I found one of those in my 67 LOS Camaro under the seat.
I think that is the interior stye tag. Does the 414 number in the upper right match the sequence number on the trim tag by chance?
