In addition to all the other info, why would the car be acid dipped? That was a thing in the 60's 70's race cars. But today?

Most likely to strip the paint. Low effort.

Rear axle is stamped Jan 19 (0109), and tag is from a 4th week of September car, so those don't line up.

I drove my 1979 Trans Am for about a month to work while waiting for my 1998 Z28 to be delivered to Cormier Chevrolet in Long Beach.  The Pontiac 400 has a 800 cfm Quadrajet carburetor and got 8 mpg driving mostly on the freeway.  I had to fill the 21 gallon tank every four days and could see the gauge go down as I went down the 405 freeway early in the morning in the slow lane!

Same; the experience was worth every penny!

Decided to do some research. I only have pics of these plugs from one of my cars. Seeing this makes me wonder about the other cars I have owned. It's just as likely they were all like this one.

Dated for a 68. The crack is repairable as well as the cut down plenum divider.

Welcome to the site! Looks like a very nice car to start with. Ask questions, there are a lot of people here that can help or point you in the right direction. LOL, not surprised by the dealer response. There are not a lot of parts in factory production any longer, so they really can't offer much. Do a google search for your area to find suppliers and shops that specialize in vintage cars. There is probably a lot that you can do yourself too!

Of the four 67's and one 69 that I have owned, all the "domes" were down. All LOS cars FWIW.

I may be off base but compare this cars spoiler with the Z28 (1967) Press Car?
