Rather then posting the numbers for everyone to see would it not be best to examine the casting number and the casting date for further clues? We have not done that yet.

Decoding/Numbers / 1968 RS SS

We just recently purchased an all matching numbers 1968 Camaro and would like someone to explain why the suffix numbers on the 396 325HP read differently from the numbers recorded on the Protect-O-Plate?
The Camaro was built the 4th. week of January 1968 - (January 22nd. to January 26th.)
The numbers on the Protect-O-Plate read T1205MY (December 5th.) whereas the Engine numbers read T0205MY (February 5th.).
The partial VIN on the Engine matches the VIN and so does the partial VIN appear on the TH 400.
Would anyone know the reason why?
