January 07, 2013, 08:46:14 PM
Very nice cars guys. Charlie wish I was ready for another one that would be a nice driver. GI Joe need to call me again on door hinges I lost your #.  What I am needing now is picture of rear of 396 car that is painted black to see were top of black line brakes. I found lots of talk on this but no one spoke of were the line brakes or what color black the tail is?
Thanks Again

Man lakeholme did I misunderstand what you were trying to show me. For years I was looking at the ZZ code as British not knowing the double ZZ meaning top and bottom.  Would there have been any chance of a vinyl top being installed at the dealer ship. Why would anyone install one later? I bought this car from a drag racer and was just putting it back as I thought it was since it had one on it when I purchased. But it would be stupid to leave it on. I know that just trying to make sense of it all.
As far as paint they tell me they can not get ppg in lacquer any more, is that not true! Will I really devalue upgrading to base c/clear c.

Originality / Re: Correct exhaust for 68 bb L89 car
December 24, 2012, 01:40:06 AM
So want this car to rumble like a BB should along with staying original so would a PRO Nf2 be the best route. Is that muffler a good deep tone? Does flowmaster or others produce that muffler to fit in original spot for a better sound? Sorry have not taken time to look into this. Thanks

Thanks for all the info and input now that I have some much originality in this car I up against another dilemma. Seems they do not make British green in lacquer and must go with base/coat clear/coat so I think I will have to go with painting the stripe white verses trying to match up with half paint and half decal. I am with you vtfb68 we had thought a black stripe would blend in much nicer before I found out it was white in 68

Did the L78/89 cars have the chambered exhaust like the Zs or just standard single muffler. Or am I off completely? Please help!
