My car is about done with restoration, and i want to start putting together information on it.  Is there any way to be able to tell, with the VIN, trim tag and original engine number, what other options it came with?  The car was a mess when i got it so i cant assume anything it had (like the 12 bolt 4.88 rear), was original.  Pardon me if i sound like i dont know what i'm talking about, i probably dont.  thank you

got one, but the illustrations are'nt very detailed when it gets down to things like this.  I think they assume small blocks are so common we should know this.  I will take a second look though

I'm having some issues restoring my cars engine.  I want to do it as it came from the factory, with correct brackets and such.  I had a long water pump on just to make it run, but when i bought a short one from a local parts store, it did'nt have a 3rd hole on the drivers side for power steering bracket mounting like the long pump did. I may have the wrong pwr steering brackets on, but i dont know.  where does it attach to the engine.  Do i have the wrong water pump or wrong power steering brackets.  where can i find a blown up image of the engine assembly.  any help is appreciated
