Thanks fellas, good catch on the supplemental operating instructions.  Numbers matching Engine......

Hello, was just trolling through the camaros on ebay, and saw this car claiming that it is "numbers matching"  The suffix on the engine stamp is "MY" which to my knowledge translates to a 67 or 68 396 (325 HP) with a TH trans.... Am I correct?  The vin is stamped on the block and matches the tag inside the vehicle... so, could it be that this was originally an automatic car instead of a Manual?  Or am I way off?  Thanks!

Yes, hopefully it's just the ground as janobyte describes... I went through this a few months back and discovered that I was not so lucky..  the Fuel sending unit in the tank had gone bad.  Here's my post troubleshooting this.  http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=11830.msg96919#msg96919

Sounds like you have the same gen as my 68 RS/SS with the D91 stripe... Can you tell me how far your Engine displacement emblems are from the nose of the fender?  I've been battleing this for awhile...  See my thread below...  Thanks in advance for your response.  Ed

I used Triple A to reproduce mine.  Not great communication, but ended up with a decent product.  I have a little different take on these....... I recently attended a show with it displayed, and it was a HUGE hit with the crowd, as it was fun for the younger enthusiasts to see what prices were for these first gen cars and thier options.  If it is used in this manner, I do not see issues with reproducing them.  I used all of my cars data (Protecto plate/trim tag) to populate the template.  Anyone using them in a fraudulent manner to sell a car should be prosecuted.  But that can be said for any misrepresentation.  To me, a reproduced window sticker is no worse than a Showboard with the same info.  It's clearly a reproduction, and is used for display and educational purposes. There will always be scumbags out there using anything they can to purposefully misrepresent what they are selling. I think most buyers would not mistake a fresh reproduction as ~45 year old original..  Just my 2 cents...  Ed

Hi Darrell,  I'm guessing those are stainless as well? Is there a point where you can polish them to a substrate level and discolor them?  I'm haveing an issue where it appears that I'm down a little too far, and getting a copper tint.... They are factory originals....

Yes, same on my 68 RS/SS... front to back, with the connector behind the drivers side kick panel...

10-4.... the dude was so sincere... I  bought into it enough that it had me second guessing myself    Guess that's part of the fun, and satisfaction that I got it right!   
Hawk, same here... I had door side moldings on mine that I thought were original... Although the AIM shows them, through the forum I discovered that No Camaros were born with them, and that it was most likely a dealer add on (thanks Ed B !)...   

Just pulled up HB Cities info... they do in fact have the top bracket for a BB car...  looks like it's a replacement, but correct... I'll chalk this up to experience and take someones comment of having an "untouched" car with a grain of salt next time ...

Hello all,  while showing my car, I had a gentlemen come up and tell me that my top AC brackets were incorrect.  He stated that he had a 68 BB AC car that was "untouched", and that my "U" shaped bracket and compressor support bracket attached to the intake manifold was not correct for a 68 BB car (circled).  This surprised me a bit... went home and pulled out the AIM.  Unless I read the AIM incorrectly, it shows this setup as being correct for an L35 car.    He stated that the Camaro catalogs (he referenced Heartbeat City) shows this "U" shaped bracket is used for SB cars.  It's my belief that since the vendors he researched did not show the BB bracket he assumed I was using a SB set up.  I can't imagine that the SB and BB intake bolt spacing would be the same?   Can anyone validate that my bracket appears correct?  Thanks, Ed

Thanks all!  Really appreciate the comments.  Means a ton coming from guys who love Camaros and know them inside out. The process of getting the car to this point was long, sometimes frustrating, but always enjoyable as I look back at it.  The forum is/was a huge a huge part of getting me motivated to finally complete it in a manner which respected the car.  The help, advice, expertise, and camaraderie you offered was/is invaluable.  I'm a rookie, but love cars, and any solid help I can offer anyone on the forum I will try to offer.
