Maintenance / 69 brake booster with drums
February 01, 2014, 10:15:58 AM
Hopefully a quick question.

I have drums all the way around. Looking to add a booster. Will NOT be doing a disk conversion.

I believe I will need a different master cylinder, correct?

How about the proportioning valve?, do I need one, or are those for the disk brakes?

Anything else I need to think about?

Looking for the retainer clips for the neutral safety switch rod.

Gm part # 148145.

shown in assembly manual- UPC 6- B10.

I can find the entire rod assembly, but I only need the 2 retainers. Have searched everywhere I know.

Have any ideas??

Restoration / bouncing speedometer help
January 14, 2010, 01:59:42 PM
I had to replace the original speedometer which was not bouncing. After the new one was installed, now my needle is bouncing.

Do I need to replace the cable? Aside from the bouncing, it is reading accurate.

thanks.

Hgger69, how do you plan to wire the tach?

Do you have a HEI? The Classic Industries catalog states you can not use their tach with HEI system.

I was planning on adding the tach also, I have a HEI, and do not know how to wire it.  There is a hookup for a tach from the HEI, but not sure if it will work.

Restoration / Hurst competition plus- which one?
February 01, 2009, 11:54:31 AM
I am adding the center console to my 69.  I have a Muncie M-21 4 speed.  I know I need the Hurst competition plus shifter with the offset arm so it will not catch on the console shift plate.

My question is, which one, the round bar or the flat bar arm? I have seen 2 different shift body numbers #2083 and #3128. and some different handle numbers #7236, #7436 (not sure if someone made a typo) and  #7238.

Will I also need the installation kit for the Muncie trans?

any help is appreciated.
