Does anyone know of a company that reproduces seat belt tags.  There use to be a company that prints them - nice reproductiions - no longer in business.  Someone said in-line tube started repoping them.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have looked at the Coker red lines (for my 67 Z-28) and noted that the (black) lettering on the tires is upside down - that is, the tops of the lettering all face the rim as opposed to the outside tread of the tire. Is that correct?  Does anyone have any pics of original redlines they can share?

I bought a system from Ricks for my 67 Z.  Right side was a nice fit.  Left side was a different story.  The angle on the head pipe was way off and could not be tweeked.  I had to send photos of the poor fit to Ricks and wait four weeks to get a replacement shipped.  Replacement fit fine. 

I ordered the repop for my 67  - OER.  It was junk and sent it back.  Then ordered the 67 repop that was wraped vinyl "just like the original" - OER - for $250.  It was junk and sent it back.  I wound up taking my original pad (with a depression and two cracks in the vinyl) to a local apholstry shop with some of the vinyl dye paint to match.  The guy did a nice job and you cannot even tell where he fixed it - he said the trick is patience and mixing the dye into the patching compound.  $50.00 and a really professional job - beats the delay and costof Just Dashes.  You might check around for a better core and see if a shop near you can fix a crack or two.

It could be a deluxe v. standard interior - just know what was originally in my light blue interior  67.  It is a standard interior.

I am restoring a 67 Z-28 - May  67 build date.  I pulled the original light blue window cranks - front and rear- when I removed the original interior for restoration.  The numbers are the same on all four 5719477.  They all have the same shape.

On the 67s, the assembly manual shows a separate clamp as part number3863512.  It clamps around the pipe and the hanger(part number3892789).  It is a band style clamp that no one repops and all the exahust shops say they don't make anymore.  Any help would be very much appreciated.

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of exhaust band clamps for the tailpipes on my 67 z.  The assembly manual shows a band clamp that attaches the tailpipe to the rear hanger.  Thanks

i AM RESTORING A 67 Z-28 THAT IS CODED FOR THE BLUE INTERIOR.  MOST OF THE INTERIOR WAS GONE.  ONE DOOR PANEL AND THE SAIL PANELS WERE ORIGINAL AND THEY ARE THE LIGHT BLUE.  HOWEVER, THE DASH PAD AND KICK PANELS - ALSO ORIGINAL ARE A DARKER BLUE.  IS THIS CORRECT?  ALSO THE TOP DASH PANEL WAS PRIMED, SHOULD IT BE THE LIGHT BLUE.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED - I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE FOR PICTURES WITH NO LUCK.

I can't speak to every state as each state can pass laws so long as they are not inconsistent with federal law. In Kansas, it is not a crime (violation of a state statute identifying a criminal offense) to stamp a VIN on a block.  VINS on bodys, whether stamped or attached are another matter as federal laws apply - the VINS control title and can not be modified unless a salvage vehicle title is acquired in the case of a build and in that instance the title must reflect the fact.  Back to Kansas.  Stamping a VIN on a block is no different than creating a clone Z-28.  The crime occurs when the person with knowledge of the fact misrepresents the fact in the sale of the car.  However, this is rarely prosecuted as a crime because the trial of the case becomes a he said/she said liars contest and they just don't have the time or the resources to get involved in what would otherwise be a private action between two parties.  The common venue is civil court seeking damages or recission of the contract.  Most of the time, the action is brought pursuant a consumer protection act which provides for damages or civil penalties arising out of the fraud or misrepresentation - considered a "deceptive" or "unconconscionable" practice.  The consumer can even recover attorney fees. Like Kansas, most states districit attorneys have a consumer fraud division and that division can bring the civil action as if it were a crime on behalf of the buyer.  However, those offices generaly only prosecute those cases if more than one consumer is aggreived by a deceptive or uncosnciobale act of a seller.  Long and short. most states do not have laws prohibiting stamping VINs on component parts and the states attorneys are reluctant to get involved inthe prosecution of cases where it is done to perpetuate a fraud.

I am restoring a 67 Z and I note that all the screws I see in the books (and pics) that fasten the cowel panel are small.  The holes that these screw go in are too big for these small screws.  The holes do not appear to have been drilled out to a larger size.  Were there some 67s that used  a larger fastner?  Thanks to all.  This forum has been a tremendous help - close to done.
