General Discussion / Re: Pics of my 68 - work in progress
February 03, 2008, 05:59:52 PM
Thanks, and yes, I have kept all the original parts (my garage is pretty much full to the rafters with boxes and parts!). When I started, it was a beautifully restored #'s matching SS396, 325hp, with a full option list but I couldn't leave well enough alone and got hooked by the resto-rod/pro touring bug. It should be ready to roll again in a couple of months, just in time for spring!

General Discussion / Re: Vinyl or Not?
January 27, 2008, 06:51:01 PM
Good choice Phillip, the vinyl top and butternut yellow go great together and every show I have been to with mine, people love it. I have seen the odd butternut yellow camaro without the vinyl top and it just doesn't look right (at least in my opinion).

Thanks all for the help. Just wanted to say this is a great forum and web site, not sure why it took me so long to find it. Also, funny how us Butternut Yellow fans find each other and with the same name even - "lakeholme" - (Phil) - (My name is Phil and my baby is also a 68 Butternut Yellow SS, albeit not quite as stock as yours)...
Regards,
Phil

Thanks, I will see how this helps my search....

Thx RonM. Regarding lakeholme's point that the replacement part # may be different than the original #, I would definitely like the "new GM replacement" part number if anyone has that. I am searching for either a very good pair of original panels or NOS panels which as lakeholme states may have a different part #. I have been searching for NOS panels for several years and have not had any luck and thought the part number may help in online searching. I am wondering if GM ever even offered new replacement interior door panels.....?

Would anyone know what the original GM part number was for a replacement front deluxe interior door panel in black (both driver and passenger side) for '68?
