All the parts are interchangeable except what makes it a 302.  the crankshaft and the pistons. most other parts are the same or similiar.  should be able to see the crankshaft where the flywheel bolts on.  302 crank has a different shape than the others. there are photo's of it online I am sure.

Since those came across thumbnail size and the original is too large I cut out the area but left same quality of one so you can see better.

Update, 

Rich Pern at camaros.net gave the suggestion of low light and take digital with flash so I tried that and it did work.  I also have what appears to be a larger B or maybe even a larger 3 to the left of the x3 marking.  any idea what this is or am I just seeing things.  will try to post a couple of these pics so you may be able to see what I am talking about.

I have a 69 z/28 x33 car and I pulled the rear seat out and the X is clear but 3 barely even there. is there a way to enhance the marking with color light or something to clean the splatter of spray adhesive off to make it better to document with photos that won't damage the markings at all..
