Stovebolt------ My Camaro is considered an automatic, so it don't have a smog pump. As for the alternator, I really don't know, but I believe it's original.

Vary nice car!------ I see it has power steering, but didn't see it on your option paper work! Could you take picture of pump mount brackets, and pulley set up, and post! I'm thinking of adding to my 68!------- Thanks, Insp4

Stovebolt------- You've found me out! The car originally didn't come with power steering. I was thinking of installing it, but am now having second thoughts, am having a hard time coming up with the vertical mount for the pump. I could make one, but wouldn't be the same thing! The two groove pulley was for that installation. I have the original, but haven't put it back as yet.

Here's a link to photos of my 68 Camaro, with torque drive, and 24,700 original miles. It's originally out of Southern Calif. but now resides at my home in Liberty, Mo. http://s904.photobucket.com/home/Insp4/recentuploads?view=slideshow

I have a set of 1969 250 emblems if anyone is interested.

Although my torque drive Camaro may be rare, there is one other Camaro that I'm told is even more so! A three speed stick on the tree! I read somewhere that only 900 or so were built in 68.

The torque drive was manufactured only in 68, and 69. And as you say, was only put with L6 engines. I've been told that 3300 were produced in 68, and about 2500 in 69. And only in Camaro's and Nova's. Although I've never seen, or heard of, a Nova with this particular trans.

:)------ Thank you! My Camaro has a torque drive trans. That explains it!

I just ordered it. I have a 68, with a torque drive, (cheap powerglide!) Hope it'll work! Thanks!

???   Am I missing something?------- I am the second owner of a all original 1968 Cailf. Camaro, with 250 six, 24,700 miles, but no smog pump!!!

I have a Calif. 68 250, with a torque drive transmission, on the column, with 24,700 miles on it. I'd like to know how many of those are still out there?
