Decoding/Numbers / Strange 67 Cowl Tag
May 09, 2007, 01:27:16 AM
Hi there,

I've seen hundreds of 67 Camaro cowl tags, and this is the first one that had extra characters after the Group 5 code options.

Has anyone seen this before?
Was this done to the tag after the factory?
What does it mean?

In case the cowl the picture doesn't show...

Thanks for your reply! Could you point out some flaws in the restoration? I suppose I could learn a thing or two from you :-)

Thanks,

Decoding/Numbers / VIN / Cowl Tag Discrepencies
May 03, 2007, 01:19:11 AM
Hello,

I've seen two cars recently that had a VIN for one factory and a trim tag from another factory. The body sequences seemed to be in line with the vin #s as you'd expect.

Did they ever ship a body intended for one factory over to the other?

Are these restorations that used multiple cars to complete one?

Examples with pictures:

Here's another example, but without a picture of the VIN it is possible the user mistyped the VIN letter in the auction:
