General Discussion / Glad to be back!
November 04, 2025, 10:49:52 PM

Many things were going on behind the scenes to make improvements to the site and to the forum the past few months.  The site has been moved to a new host, and hopefully will be more stable. You will also notice that we are now a secure site (https:/)

We apologize for the delays we experienced, but some technical difficulties and health issues got in the way. As volunteers, we run the forum because we love Camaros, not because we are web experts. We learned more about software and servers and we are happy to be back and hopefully things will be good to go for a long time.

No throttle cables in 67.

10-4 that's what I found and it's my experience. Never saw a cable on a 67.

Do any of you have a 1967 Camaro with 6 cylinder and a throttle cable? I have always been under the impression that the cable was not used until 1968.

General Discussion / Re: '68 Camaro door jamb holes
June 20, 2025, 09:58:59 AM
Long thread over on the Yenko site.

Have you been able to make any progress with the owner that has the paperwork? There were suggestions on how you could at least get a pic of the paperwork or the tag that was in the door jamb. It would help a lot.

It's too bad the axle code was obliterated.

Spacing of holes seems too wide to me.

Is there a casting date on the axle center section?

I would never buy a car without tags and paperwork.

SS350 engine. Owner is selling from his car, isn't interested in keeping it original.

Makes no sense what your saying bcmiller.

The VIN for a 1967 Camaro "coupe" would either start with 12337 for a 6 cylinder or 12437 for a V8, then you just add the partial VIN for 100% match to full VIN.
Firewall does not have 6 cylinder piercings but has V8 engine mounts and accelerator pedal as mentioned, so it would have a 12437 prefix.
I'm only questioning that the 3 in partial VIN looks a little odd to me, however, the leading edges look to sharp for it to be 0.
I'll take the heater box off when I get to the car next and see how that partial VIN compares.

Hopefully the PO comes through with tags in the meantime.

Regards

Yes, hopefully the previous owner comes through with the tags!

I have been around these Camaros since the 70s, parted out many.  If there are indeed firewall piercing differences, you may be able to help educate me on that. For 1967, I am not aware of any cars getting the throttle cable - that option was cancelled for 67.  Is there something else different?

I also ran the on line NICB VIN check, but I have not found this to be 100 percent reliable.
