Welcome aboard and yes, communicate what your trying to find.

Interesting to note as many of you may know, they supplied air cowl plenum with a template for cutting cowl hole, and the 68 plenum air box base had the indent for the smog pump but the tubes when attached to the ex. manifold hit or interfered with the large plenum air box, so as aforementioned the smog system did not work. In Jerry's one fact book there is a picture of a 68Z with smog system and air cowl plenum. I asked him many years ago how they did that and it was something like using smog tubes on right side from a 71 Nova smog system if I remember correctly.
Jerry has one of the very few 68Z's that came with the option of headers and air cowl plenum as Joe posted. When restoring our 68 Jerry let me review and take pics of his car which I greatly appreciated.

Quote from: FRANKTHECRANK on January 12, 2026, 09:24:58 AMYes,...I was being a little sarcastic. I know the cross ram and headers were dealer items, but at least they were offered to be delivered to new owners via the parts department, and/or installed on original, stock Z28s. The hood pins on the other hand,.....

Headers were a factory option for the 68Z but as acknowledged by everyone, no factory cross-rams LOL.

Quote from: KurtS on January 01, 2026, 09:59:23 PMThat looks better. Maybe NP? Not NF.
Including the color seems a little over the top, IMO. The operator could see the interior color...
Here's a pic of my cluster tag and having "black" listed. Built Dec 6, 1967

Well done on making the tag Jim.....

Quote from: KurtS on January 01, 2026, 02:24:51 AMNice job on the cluster.

fwiw, I've never seen a Camaro cluster with a LC (or any L code). Could be due to the red color...
Jim, looking great and liked the header/Gardner Exhaust set up. Laughed at the "Chick header mod" TY.....

Kurt, our 68Z gage panel label was "NL" and had "black" listed on label. Curious why the color listed or why different labels for different interior colors?

Been that way for years and a good person to work with. Hopefully he's still available.

Quote from: Danzo on November 16, 2025, 01:45:58 PMDoes anyone still have an original spare with the wax dot present. I am trying to determine dot color to amount of weight installed. I believe 1/2 oz is white, 1 oz is red. Anyone have anything else?
Thank you, Doc.
Not sure of any "wax dot" but have noted  a type of ink or paint dot that I thought had to to with assembling the tire to the spot weld on rally wheel to allow for the best possible balance (least lead weight use). Both of these pictures from friends 69 Z/28 survivor.

Quote from: SMS on April 15, 2025, 03:08:58 PMBump.  Does anyone have door jamb photos of this car, specifically where the black rocker paint is and isn't?  Tape line fore and aft.

Some great looking and impressive Camaro's. Could not be there this year and it hurt not being able to see so many friends and just taking in each year's collection of entries. Thanks for sharing.....

Originality / Re: 69 z/28 black phosphate intake bolts
November 27, 2025, 07:25:31 PM
Another factor might be time-frame of build that have painted manifold bolts. Just a thought as Skip's 69Z is a late 09D built car. Any idea Kurt on build dates for other Z's with painted manifold bolts? John, the judging manual probably is just communicating what is considered "the norm".

I think it just makes a 68 have a better look & unique, not saying the best looking, but it has a look all its own. But I am partial LOL.

Normative Practice was Semi-gloss Black. Over the years the DOT3 fluid dripped and removed a lot of the Delco/Bendix as built paints.

Correct & they were machined after painting....Joe
And as Joe pointed out the two large surfaces on side and small indented area where stamped should be bare of paint due to machining surfaces after. A semi-flat clear works well to preserve no painted surface.

Originality / Re: core support dimples

Joe, 07D 68Z survivor rad support has the dimples, so for sure it started sometime late in the 68 model year run.
