They all do not have "X" as the first letter. My X-77 has "B 7" and the car has blue interior. So the number is more important than the X.

The rivets would have been there because, I believe, they used the vinyl roof trim to break the two tone up. That had to be quite a distinctive looking car.

Thanks for replies, just makes me wonder when someone with a big block SS or a 307 base model comes across their "original DZ" with matching VIN. Kind of gutsy to put a VIN on a motor unless you know for sure the car does not exist anymore.

Kurt,

On his other block is the VIN a restamp on the pad? Just curious as how they replace the date/id stamp and not the other. Machine it carefully?

Thanks.

Thanks William. I don't have The AIM. In the parts inventory for Camaro, was there 2 (or more) sets of multi-leaf, say 4-leaf, that were arched different to determine the ride height with one specific to The Z/28 and another specific to non Z's that required mult-leaf due to options installed?

Sorry for mistakenly calling you John in my previous question. Too much reading sometimes.

John,

Can you elaborate more on "lower trim height". Was the rear of the car's height significantly different for multi-leafs vs mono-leaf?

Thanks

What do you think of the stamping on this? The reason I ask is because it appears there are swirls marks from being decked.
