I say put the tag on.even if its a repop,it will make the car look complete.Im in the same boat as you and im going to get a repop tag for my car.most of the people who look at the car wont know the difference if its real or not.since your not trying to misrepresent the car,I say put it on.thats my opinion.

Goodmark has this item listed on there website,but it is not for sale yet.Currently being tooled is what they say.should be for sale one of these days I hope as I also need one.

I recently cut a mustang driveshaft open and it had a 3 foot long metal tube twice as thick as the outer tube.it was pressed in with rubber seals on each end of it.this had to be some typeof damper.but i,ve never seen this in a chevy.

this has worked for me.stagger the ends of the seal about 1/4 inch so the seal ends are in the block and not with the parting line of the cap to block.also use a small amount of gasket sealent on the cap beside the seal where it mates with the block so oil cant seep between the cap and block. 

I just rebuilt an engine out of a 68 z28 and it had bronze bushings in the small end for floating pins.is this correct for a 68 engine.

Are original 69Z manifolds with smog tube holes really worth that much.I have a set that I threw in the shed 17 years ago when I went to hedders.Im going to dig them up tommorow and put them in the house.

OK here goes,for the last 30 years I heard a story about a guy that bought a brand new 69 SS 396 camaro and took the original engine out and installed a hotter one.all he did was drag race the car. in 1970 or 1971 he was killed in a car accident.I think it was in a corvette.his family locked his garage and hasent touched anything in it since.a few people have been allowed to go in and look if the family knows you,and I have heard that its like going back in time when you go in the garage.its just like he left it in 69.original engine sits in the corner,and theres a set of new pistons sitting on the bench.I,ve heard this story for 30 years but had no real proof untill 6 months ago.a young guy(18 to 20 ) comes to our machine shop with work for his father driving a company truck from the late camaro owners family bussines.tells me his name and his fathers name and its the same last name as camaro owner.when he asked about the price of the machine work I said we can work out a trade with that old camaro they had in the shed.his face went blank and he looked at me real strange and asked how did I know about that.told him I heard all the stories.he eased up and said he's been trying to get it for years but his father wont let him have it. so this camaro hasent seen sunlight sinne 69 0r 70.and they will not sell.

im trying to get an opinion from someone that doesent sell it.of course they are going to tell you that its the greatest thing since sliced bread.

does this mean no one has heard of us stamped sheetmetal.check out modern chevrolet.they have it listed........

good evening to all.has anyone here heard of or have hands on experince with what is advertised as US stamped sheetmetal such as tail light panels and quarter panels.are they that much better than import stuff to warent the much higher price.or does it have the same fitment issues as the import stuff.

This method works great.if its to tight to unscrew as it is then you have to heat.BUT heat the plug,not the head.the way this works is,heat the plug and it tries to expand from the heat but cant because the head prevents it from doing this.while the plug is hot,spray it with WD-40 and it will shrink an the lubricant will get in the threads and it will unscrew.how much heat is trial and error.normally you heat the plug untill it starts to turn red.I know you dont want to heat,but if it wont come out and you put to much pressure on it you can break the side off of it.then you break out the drill. hope this helps

I am a machinest.the K-Liners are junk.dont use them.use the .500 outside diameter cast iron replacement guide.a special drill and ream is used to drill out the old cast in guide and then the replacement is pressed in.if done right,they are just as good as original.

i remember that 30 years ago a brand of hedder called Blackjack hedders was very popular.this might be what you have.
