Mild Modifications / Re: powerglide to 400 swap
July 02, 2014, 10:33:11 AM
Hi Heatmaker, Welcome to the site!  I think that there are different length THM400's. I put a THM400 in my 67 I used to have and only had to put a 400 yoke on my PGlide driveshaft (and a new flexplate...and a different starter...and a crossmember...and a shifter). I think I read that it's the tailpiece that makes for a long or short THM400.  Car is long gone, still have the THM400.

Originality / 67 Tilt column?
June 26, 2014, 02:35:57 PM
Hi everyone, hoping you can ID this for me. I've had this for about 8 years.  Overall length is 31 5/8, that's threaded top to spline bottom.  Chrome hazard button with stud, going into insert in column, D-shaped hole. Orange sticker on it looks like last 4 numbers are 9343.  Thanks, Randy

Of course Z22 (RS) comes before Z27 (SS). I know, I know, Z27 didn't come about until 1969, but before that, there was no specific SS code, only engine codes.  So RS/SS.

My bookmark quit working for this, but I made a new one and it works.

The 67 RS 327 I used to have had that clamp. Purchased the car from the original owners.

Let me just see if I got this straight. Your engine was built May 29 1969.  Your car body began August week 3, 1969. Your rear axle was built Nov. 29th, 1968?  ???

If it still has the VIN stamp, you should put it in the orphans section.  :)
