I was sure hoping for a 2009 model, since I have a 69. I was gonna buy one. now they are gonna be 2010 models they wont have as much appeal to me.I may still buy one but my intrest is fading fast. Just tired of waiting to be quite honest.

the link proved to work, thanks John Z. I found a square nut to fit in the opening and screwed it on to a bolt with another nut and locked them together, worked great!

my next problem is how do you fill the resevoir? is it self bleeding?

does anyone know how you get the convertable pump/motor out of a 69? I have one of the plastic lines broke at the cylinder on the car and will need to refill the resevoir. I am down to where the pump is and it is setting on rubber grometts. I couldnt see how it comes off. Also has anyone had any luck splicing into the plastic line that feed the cylinders? They are the originals so the are pretty brittle. I was thinking of trying it along the line where it was straight, May be that I should just change them all out. Steve

Many thanks, I remember having to do the paper clip thing on the sterring colum but that was on a 68 chevell and tried to on the glove box but couldnt find the little hole, the link that you provided is what i needed. I might suggest a tip to others about the info that we find and recieve here. copy and past in my documents creat a file just for your car and then its easy to find later. not trying to be a know it all, just thought it may help forgetfull people like me

never had much luck working from the bottom. remove the ac and proceed from there, its a pain in the but working with exhaust. you will have to attack the doughnut gasket bolts from the bottom though, you will need a long extenstion and a deep well 9/16 socket and mabey a swivel.

my glove box latch is very loose in the door housing. can someone tell me how this is removed and or tightend up? 69 ss

on my 69 the bracket mounts to exhaust manifold between the no 1 and 3 pistons and there is a pin thru the bracket,  the cable goes thru the pin, around the upper aframe bushing arm and then back to the pin,

I have a friend just up the road with and original 67 if you want I will stop by and measure his for you. You need the measurements from the outside to the outside? from the left one all the way to the outside of the right one? Steve

They are located behind the backseat facing the back of the car under the convertable apron. they have a cardboard looking housing around them, you just about have to be a houdini or a contortionist to mess with them.

sdkar, you are correct. I did in fact buy the classic headquarters brand and when I installed it with the resistor board it seems to be working fine, I thank you all for your help and comments. where I intionally messed up was hooking it up outside of the housing, which in fact was the ground, duh, it would peg all the way hot. Soooooo, me gets to thinkin that I hooked up the plug backwards and I switch them around, anyways......it works now, Thank You.  Steve

Ok, I must have something wrong here. I drove the car around town today for around an hour or so and the guage will not move from full cold. as soon as the key is turned on it goes to left as far as it can up against the stop. it stayed there for I know an hour while I drove around. I will have to pull it back out. heres the way its connected. The top and bottom have the square wound resistor board on them with one cardboard washer under the top lug. the bottom doesnt have one on it. On the two to the right and left is the bakelite board with the two connections on them. Im quite sure that the plug that goes on it is upside down from the way I took it off but when connected the other way as soon as the key is turned on it goes to full hot all the way against the stop in that direction. What gives? I dont have much hair left to pull out! Steve

Yeah you may be right, I'm going to reconnect everything and drive it around awhile and see what happens, I will let you know.  Steve
