Last pictures shows the speedometer.  It's a repro. The mileage numbers are not original GM.  Look at an original GM speedometer, then this one.....you'll see the difference.  Neat car though.

yeah - I remember Pontiac doing these.....they had a Blue Bird (light blue in color) and this Red Bird.

Pontiac tried to appeal to the ladies.......

These are neat.

Quote from: x66 714 on March 22, 2026, 01:06:22 PMWhat does the casting area look like where it says "LOCK"? ...Joe
The pad where the word "LOCK" is moulded on should be rectangular shaped, NOT oval.
Never knew the difference until I saw 69 Camaros with original factory installed tilt wheel option.
They all had the same rectangular pad.
70+ Camaros had oval shaped pads.

Typical.

Originality / Re: 1969 Tires
February 27, 2026, 08:22:38 PM
Here's what's on Kelsey Tire's site:

Note for the 1st Generation Camaro only – Read Carefully

14" Goodyear Tire Fitments
Goodyear Polyglas tires were first used and going forward in April of 1969. For Goodyear RWL fitments for vehicle build dates beginning in April 1969 through October 1969, use Goodyear Polyglas SKU# CB5KL. November through December of 1969, a running change was in place with Goodyear Polyglas installations. Thus either the CB5KL or CB5KJ may be used. As you can see, this encompasses the first half of the 1970 build year. Prior usage from 1967 through March of 1969 was the Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread series.

15" Goodyear Tire Fitments
The Z28 cars of this generation are well-defined. 1967 735/15 Red Line SKU# CBBMV. 1968 & 1969 Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread GT E70/15 RWL STK# CB3EX. 1970 – see running change note above. F60/15 RWL STK# CB4GF or CB4GG, depending on the vehicle build date. The F60/15 RWL STK# CB4GG was used from January 1970 through the end of first-generation O. E. bias fitments.

Note:  They are referencing their own part numbers on the tires they sell.

I think Sauron327 runs a restoration shop....I THINK it's up in the northeast.....not sure.  He posts all the time here and sounds like he knows his stuff.

Quote from: buenymayor on February 17, 2026, 02:19:14 AMSeems strange to hide the body number if it is truly for "collector" purposes.

LOL!   It's for the collector who's gonna score $200K at Barrett Jackson in a year or two.

Looks like the first # is 3 and the last is 2.  Still could be anything.  No telling marks or dents.  If you have a numbers matching Z in the 05D range, you have a helluva combination....if you can do the body work yourself.

Whatever.....looks like it sold - not on Marketplace anymore.

I'll keep my mouth shut on this one.  You all know what's gonna happen.

I ended up using black O-rings, cutting small 1/8" pieces then stuffing each clip with the rubber piece into the clip where it grips the hood.  The rubber spreads the clip apart just enough to keep the clip in place.  You can either push the clip into the hood or insert the clip into the hood then insert the rubber piece to keep in place.  the clips have been holding my molded hood insulation up for over 10 yrs with no problems.

Try it - you'll like it. :D

Don't get the repro spiral shocks......the ride is not that good....IMO.  Been there - doing that.
