Media blasting is not as invasive as sand, yet removes paint just as well.   This may not be a concern with undercarrige and trunk, but would be on body panels.   Just a thought.

Sounds like a decent deal.   Good luck with the purchase.   I'm actually in mourning, as I recently sold my '68Z.   It was a good investment, and those $$ are now in what I hope to be a better investment.   What is the other car you are buying along with the '67?

To make clear, '67 Z were chrome w/Chevy embossing, '68 "plain" chrome, '69 finned alum.

I still don't like the car, though it may be grow on me.    I think it needs to be much more retro as in 1rst. gen. styling.    But then they did not ask for my opinion.    That said, they may miss a huge part of potential market (baby boomers) by not making significant changes.   Anyone agree, or am I in a dream world???

What you say makes sense to me.  I suppose it is better to be on the selling side rather than the buying with current prices.   I can take substantial profit now, just hope I don't regret it in a few years.   I'll definitely feel better than when I, like many, sold classic Camaros for peanuts back in the good 'ole days.  On a positive note, if I sell now, I can begin the "fun" of buying and starting a new resto!

I am interested in the forum's opinions regarding the Barrett-Jackson Auction results.   The B-J January and April auctions continue to bring huge prices for American Muscle, especially 1rst gen. Camaros.   COPOs are going for several hundred thousand dollars, Z28's from sixty thousand to two hundred grand.   Are the prices going to continue to increase, or have they reached the maximum.
I have people contacting me monthly looking to buy my '68 Z, and at times I'm tempted to "cash in".   Opinions???

Doubt if I could accept even a free "Foose Original".  Tough I vaguely remember my wife (maybe x-wife) buying a '73 Pinto wagon.   But that was a few years prior to my first 1rst. Gen. Camaro, so I forgave her!

I agree with you.  Unless I needed more detailing in the engine bay, I don't see removing engine.   Someone has suggested taking off front wheels to lower car.   Makes sense I guess.   Anyone tried this before?

I am getting ready to put the correct 291 heads on my Z28.  It has been suggested to me that the engine be removed to change heads.   This would make detailing easier after heads are changed.   Others say it can be done o.k. without taking the engine out.   Needless to say, there is some concern about "scratches and dings" doing it either way.    Any suggestions or "dos and don'ts" from the forum will be appreciated.

My intent was to say that not all '67 462 and 291 heads had 2.02 valves.  But could be changed.  Sorry if I confused anyone.

Maybe not completely original.   They would have been changed to the 2.02 valves.  I am interested in buying.  Do you have digital photos available?

Here is the info I have.  The Z was purchased Sept. '68 from Vaughn Chevrolet, Lynchburg Virginia.  As mentioned in prior post, I have spoken to the first and second owners.  Thanks to all CRG staff for their great work.

I have been following this thread with high interest.  I have '68 Z with original engine, trans. rear end etc, but no paper documentation except tire pressure sticker.  I do however have signed statement from the original owner, after the car was recognized online by a friend of the second owner.  (Actually met him today)  My question, would you like me to send the information I have for the CRG data base?
