Picture from the original owner of my X33 . I guess the original Hugger Orange didn't attract enough attention.

The debate rages on but one thing for sure is no one ever says anything bad about Dynamat. Ebay has some good deals but always pay attention to the shipping charges

Then there is the yellow .... :)

Seriously, I ask because one of the National judges told me recently that all one color and mostly orange.  Of course he could be wrong. Plus the fact every Camaro shop that sells first gen parts has been selling these stamps for years so who know how many of these firewalls have been stamped.

I would be interested in what Steve and the guys in the Vintage Certification Program have seen

Here are a few photos that may also help. Not sure how accurate you want to be but gives an idea of how the torch cut tunnel looked. Also note the placement of the ground near the back of the opening. These are from my old Van Nuys Z that was 100% original.

These are from my other 69Z . Car had been raced and the tunnel hacked but the dimensions from the center of the groove back should be spot on

I just wanted to bring this thread up because I have always been told that the colors on the PBT stamps should not be mixed. I see a few photos of cars in this thread that have both green and orange stamps combined.

Can anyone say with certainty that the stamps were either not mixed or on occasion were mixed? And if both colors were used on one car is that common or minimal and what may have been the cause for both colors to be used?

Don't they say, " A thread ain't worth nothing without pictures"? ... :)   OK I posted there too

I agree 100%, but Kurt would prefer us not to post pictures of original stampings so we don't create a reference library for would be forgers.    :)

Paul

Good to know.. I would have never guessed since Kurt comments on stampings all the time on TC

1969 - Orphans / 69 COPO Camaro block found
August 19, 2011, 12:04:09 PM
I am posting this for dschwantz

"I just found a 1969 copo camaro block. stamp on pad is TO425MN date A-3-9 vin# 19N647850 I would like to reunite with car if it still exsits but if it doesn't exsist, it will be sold. this block has not been decked, it is standard bore, it has a sleeve in cylinder#1 (it was done many years ago) the crank is still standard, there was a set of 7/16 dimple rods and what i believe are 12.5:1 pistons in it. if anyone is interested please E-mail me at dschwantz@comcast.net I can E-mail pictures to those that are interested. thanks"

How about a set of the reproduction Firestone race tires? http://store.cokertire.com/firestone-indy-920-15.html

You can mount them on some 5-spoke American D-spoke wheels from http://vintageeng.com/MagWheelsProduct.html

Thanks Jon .... just when I thought I had it figured out you show me something I like and now I am confused again !
Vintage Engineering is local to me as well....
