I just checked with the shop that did my heads , he said they were 110 lbs.Springs.  He told me to tear it down and check the rod bearings for where. Can I jack the motor up enough to get the pan out with out pulling it all the way out? Bob

I'm going to install a new cam in my car tomarrow,my last one wiped after 500 miles. I want to make sure I doin't miss anything installing this one. Do I need cam lubricant ? I have a bottle of EOS. I know to run it at arround 2000 rpms for 20 min.I know about the oil with zinc. Do I need to worry about metal in the oil pan from the bad cam ? If someone could give me a 101 on how to do this that would be a great help. I doin't know how to look this up in other posts or I would Thanks Bob

Paul, I just want to say that I used the speed pro cs-118r in mine and wiped a lobe in about 500 miles. I still think I did everything right to break it in.I'm putting a new one in tomarrow and it isn't a speed pro.It could have been my fault but I'm not going to chance it  Bob

I was just at the car show in O.C. Maryland,nice show. I stoped at a old farm in delaware some guy named butch has, signs up everywhere to stay out.When you drive arround it all you see are old musle cars rotten it the dirt,over 50 of them maybe 20-30 1st gen camaros,vets, mopars and even a few fords. Theres a old garage on the property with lifts. I heard that up on one of the lifts is a ZL1. ( from more than on person ) I have pics I took this weekend from the road but am not sure how to load them. Bob

I've alwise have had a 69 camaro in the garage for the last 30 yrs. I've had a rs z stolen and never got it back, sent a six banger to the bone yard because I didn't have title,( big mistake 27,000 car striped for parts ) sold a rs rag top a couple of years ago for 13,000 and paid twice that for the z I have now and its a driver,and I like it that way I beat the heck out of it like the one I had when I was 18. Just wiped a lobe on the cam. I'll be tearing it down again.It"s nice not worrying about a nick in the paint.When the time comes to sell it I hope it gets driven and not stored.It's mostly orginal in good shape and I bet it will not go for that much less than a show one. 2 years ago I had a chance to get a # pace car for 17,000 in show shape but didn't get it because I was looking for a stick ( another big mistake ) the next day i came to my sences and it was gone. I  had a noise coming from my valve cover, when I checked it out I found a rocker laying there, rocker looked ok , but the pushrod was about an inch lower than it should be, pulled the rod and it was ok. I only have about 500-1,000 miles on new motor. I did everything I was suppose to too break it in. Could it have been a bad one out of the box ? Any ideas Thanks Bob

My 302 is breaking up arround 5000-6000 rpms and has a light knock ( only somethimes ) when under a load, Also sometimes when its ideling I hear a light knock, that stops when I pull the pcv valve. sounds like its in the valve train. Did I wipe a lobe? or what else could it be? I'm scared to drive it. Any help would be great. Thanks BOB

Thanks John, I just filled it up so it's going to take a while to burn the gas up. But when I can I will pull the tank and check the sending unit. Bob

Thanks, I got a chance to try what you said, the gage went pass full & I cleaned the ground on the tank.The gage made some progress but still comes up short when full. So is it posabale I just have a bad ground some where else? Or is it the sending unit? Thanks Bob

John, I went with the 45 sparkplug,do you think because I have a high voltage coil the plugs might be to hot. And this could be part of the problem with my timing. I think the problem is in the dist. or the way its set up. I wish I had a set of points to fool with. Thanks Bob

I know that it plugs into the raido, but where on the raido? The plug has about 8 prongs, and they bend easy so I can't just feel and push. Thanks Bob
