Would a  L 30 6 and A 5 7 date code be correct also? Those other heads have been sold.

All,

What would be the correct casting number heads and intake for this block be? I found a set of 3890462 that are dated A-12-7. This block is dated A-18-7. Would these be the correct heads? I also have a 3919803 intake that I believe has around the same date code. How close were the date codes in production engines?

Thanks for the help

Correct. The letter went out 3 weeks ago and we have not received a response from the car owner.

It's been 3 weeks and response from the owners. I've put the block on EBay. Dropped it off at a machine shop to get magna fluxed today as well.

Will do. Should expect a call next week if they are interested.

I've been dealing with him for years. He didn't tell me who owns the car or it's location but is sending a letter on my behalf. We'll see if they even want the motor. He gets the point of these classic cars and the provenance of matching numbers so it's kind of a favor for both the owner and myself.

Well, with some digging around today a DMV rep found one of those VIN's here in California. The car hasn't been registered since 2010. He is sending a letter on my behalf to see if they want the motor. Thank you for the help Ed

Thanks Ed. I'll try and list it in the classifieds for a while. Just thought I'd put it back into circulation for the Camaro purists vs using this in a hot rod.

1967 - Orphans / 1967 Ss 350 short block VIN lookup
October 06, 2022, 02:39:37 PM
Hello All,

New user of this forum here. I came across a short block recently that I was going to use in one of my hot rods but after discovering it's out of a 67 Camaro SS I'd figure I'd try and get it back into the hands of a Camaro enthusiast or perhaps the matching number car. I read in some earlier posts this group has a way to check if the block VIN is in a VIN registry. Here's what I have.

Block code-  VOI23MT
Partial VIN- 7L140473

According to my green book this is a 4b/A.I.R./Manual Trans 350 out of a Camaro or Chevy II.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.
