Decoding/Numbers / Re: 1968 Queue Jump ?

That would explain it. I would imagine it must have been changed at the factory as the car spent its life in America until 2 years ago and I purchased it off the importer to New Zealand.

Thank you.

Decoding/Numbers / 1968 Queue Jump ?
December 01, 2023, 11:01:32 PM
Did my car jump the queue. I have a late build 68 with matching numbers from front to back (with the odd exception of replaced parts, alternator, master cylinder). All date codes are correct on everything that I can find, even the carpet! The only abnormality I can find is the # stamped on the cowl under the wiper panel is one digit out, it then has been altered. I have the protect-o-plate and this is correct to options, engine number and tags. Has this been seen before by anyone?

Anyone have any clips for the 2.5" heater core?  I am in need of some or I will have to make my own.  Where did you come across the info? Thanks.

I got the information from the following link on another forum. I cant find information on the clip for the 2.5". I could only find a 2.5" core here in NZ so I will use that to replace my 2". I will update how I get on with installing. I'm thinking I will have to make clips also.

Found some good information, 2.5" was superseded in March 68 by the 2". Same case was used right through just different clips and pipe seal.

3015134 - Case - 1968-69 Camaro (except 396 engine) without AC
*use CI Part # 3013319 for 1968 Early Builds with 2-1/2" core
*use CI Part # 3011432 for 1968 Late Builds with 2" core (supersession #3016842)
*use CI Part # 3011432 for 1969 models

3015141 - Case - 1968-69 Camaro (with 396 engine) without AC
*use CI Part # 3011477 for 1968 models
*use CI Part # 3018864 for 1969 models

3015606 - Case - 1968 Camaro with AC
*use CI Part # 3009917 for 1968 models

Just removed heater core from my 68.

I always believed 67-68 were 2.5" and the 69 was 2".

This surprised me being only 2", (# 68C) perhaps being a July 68 build it got a change that went into the 69 model.
