I have the original set of bows from my restoration and also think the middle bow is without paint mark. Will probably be available for sale soon.

General Discussion / Re: VIN Google Search
April 27, 2025, 11:18:41 AM
Your'e exactly right Byron, I know that as best that I could after my bout with Cancer in 2019 and the start of my 69' L78 resto that I indeed gave it and my all to the 1 we need the most! But still human and is intriguing to think you might have something more than just a L78. This is based on a few things, all solid possibilities to prove the exact. Example talking to original owner and he telling me all he could remember about car is he raced it right off the dealership lot, and what he paid for the car new, north of 5000. Since he has no invoice or anything else paper trail, thinking of trying to get him to sign an affidavit to the statement of purchase price. Heck I'm now an old fart, officially retired, why not stay active in our sport in the search mode that is and hopefully restart a real effort to find my original engine. Thanks to you and other members here for ya's knowledge all 1st Gens and I am fortunate to be a part of such an awesome information industry of 1st Generation CAMAROS.

General Discussion / VIN Google Search
April 26, 2025, 10:44:27 AM
What a joke, tryed Google search on my VIN and preliminary report says my Vin is a COPO 9560, laughed out loud, and decided not to even spend a dollar for a complete report with Been Verified, know their tricks with email confirm and payment info. Yea I'm a 72 year old cheap azz with all my funds tied up in my 69' L78?89! What part of Google are ya connecting to for your VIN? Thanks.

Originality / Radiator Tags
April 25, 2025, 11:37:40 AM
Interesting today we have a conversation on radiator tags. My question is(thought) does the tag also identify the engine as to the type engine that came from the factory with. My case going back years, as a 19 year old punk note knowing what I had at the time of purchase. My radiator tag ZD which I kept during my restoration, after stepping up to a 4-row radiator. Took a muscle car collector in North Carolina to help me identify the car as a true big block car and the heater box cover with the mid way hose outlets, and the tachometer to identify it was a solid lift engine from the factory, lol, oh LORD if I could only find my original engine, with a very magic suffix code. Just curious on member thoughts, aka William, KurtS. On the ZD. Thanks.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 1969 L89 Camaro
April 18, 2025, 11:47:38 AM
I will check with this former owner and see if he can send me a pic of the protect-o-plate. And will count my VIN's on the L89's, but I think I have a few more than 67. Would just have to compile a VIN for VIN list and compare with your list of VIN's. Thanks Mr Kurt.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 1969 L89 Camaro

Hey Pacecar, I have a original owner of L89 looking for his once owned L89, have his info and VIN and engine suffix code, and he says he has all the docs and protect-o-plate for the car. Do you have any other L89 cars in your stable of VIN's or any info. I am trying to do a registry on L78's and of course L89's also. Can't really do 1 without the other. The 89 being an option of the 78. Gonna try an see if he can send me a pic of the plate. Just need to figure out how to pm you. Thanks.

I have a new set, PBT never used, that I could let him use it, but would have to have it back, just have never come up with the paint to do my 69'. If I had mine's done would just send them to him and then he could pass them on for somebody else that would need them.

General Discussion / L89 Owners
March 04, 2025, 10:24:26 AM
Not sure if this is where I need to make this request! But I was wondering how many L89 owners we have in CRG. And if any, would ya be willing to help start a registry. I have begun a self registry, and have about 60 to 65, but cannot validate all. Could use a little help on some type of format, also. I know there are a lot of these cars in private collections, and would be very hard to get any info for a registry, but maybe someone here can help with this. Thanks ya.

Outstanding "Z" first and foremost, but the color combo, unreal. Though mine's is a BB SS, the bodies are kindred, 02D build dates. Great job SuperLuxfords, great car, know you are pleased with this beauty.

1969 - Orphans / Re: 19N704171 DZ engine
February 10, 2025, 07:18:33 PM
How about DZ on Marketplace body 9N704502. Suffix V10_ _DZ looks good, and partial hard to see, but is there. Encouraging to see body 19N704171, can hopefully re-unite with it's numbered DZ.

This is all right. Now if I was younger and had about 10 more years with my car, I would do this, but the console would have be acceptable to my gauges. May have to show these pics to my son, the next owner of the car. He has had quite a few 5th Gens and 1 ZL-1. Lol, I also had 1 5th Gen, but had to let it go to restore the 69. So sdkar, as a longtime owner of a 69', kudo's Sir.

This is great for us 396 owners, especially the L78 coupe owners. Now the question I have is the 311 L89 cars, does anybody here know of a registry source or any owners of L89's in the CRG? I again feel like I have a L89 car based on possible find of what I thought was my original 396 with a very strange suffix code to me at the time, mid 90's. Later publication confirmed that suffix code indeed was for a 69' Camaro L78/89. Then I found original owner who remembered that it was not an alloy head, but then he shared what he paid for car, how about north a ways of 5000.00! Guess I just need to try and find that engine again. But the suffix code(burned in my memory) our Kurt has already says no know production car with this coded L89. Thanks, if anybody can help.

Originality / Re: 1969 XT wheels
December 27, 2024, 04:34:04 PM
Kelly I know this is not a good picture to try and pull up numbers placement, but I think you can see the K-1-9 and the 1 left side of stem and the 30 on right of stem. And of course the XT.
