Hi Steve and thanks for the welcome.

This pace car belonged to a friend in the early 70s then he sold it to my brother in 1978.

My brother decided to restore it around 1982, took it apart and started purchasing parts from Chev. to restore it.

After 30 plus years of it setting in pieces he threw in the towel and I became the owner in 2013.

Fortunately it retained most of the important original parts and the rest was my scavenger hunt.

It's 99% finished (if they are ever finished) and only needs a little run in and testing when the weather breaks.

Thanks Rich

Mine was not sold until 5/22/69 and the pop plate seems like the car was ordered for stock.

So per the Cowl tag it was a 4th week of March car, which matches up with the engine assemble date of V0317

Thanks Pete,

I only researched the numbers decode section, which stated;

At each plant, the vehicle serial number
started the year at the following number:

    100001 for 1967 models
    300001 for 1968 models
    500001 for 1969 models

Per the CRG the Vin number for a 1969 Camaro Convertible should be 124679N5XXXXXX

My 1969 Pace car Vin is 124679N6XXXXXX

This same "6" is on the POP, cowl stamping, firewall stamping, dash and original paperwork.

What did I miss?
