Possibly the white by the vin is sealer? It's under the blue. The trunk lid has white on top of blue.

That would make sense except it's not all over. I'll post more pictures. It's just a pain scaling them down. I have to transfer them from my phone to Mac then post. I can scrape off this orange paint easily around where the weatherstripping sat and there is no white. The glove box sticker is gone. Someone was changing the interior from blue to black. The glove box is not original. It is black. I have some blue stuff in the trunk but no glove box

It looks welded on. Maybe the original was damaged and had another made and put it in top? Or trying to pull something.

I am young. I'm 32. My dad had one when I was a kid and it's been my dream car. I figure when I die there will be so few real ones left it won't matter what I did to it. It still will be worth money. Outside will be pretty much stock looking. Maybe a newer style of wheels to give it a resto mod look. And I'm putting a basic LS in it because I want to drive it a lot.

I would check with the person who had the drivetrain to see if the block or 4speed might have have the partial vin that matches your car! Also get the code off the right rear axle tube. Your car would be worth with the original drivetrain.

To be honest. The resale value has no bearing on the vehicle to me. It's not going anywhere.

Early 68 EE code is fathom blue. Also check to see it has tire pressure decal on inside of glove box door. If has white under cowl panel only car that had stripes there would be 68z28. Get more pictures of the car. Also does it have 12 bolt and how many leaf springs.

I believe it is a 10 bolt single leaf but I'm not sure if they are original to the car. The person I bought it from got it from a friend that owed him money to settle his debt and doesn't know anything about it. Reason I think this is the guy I bought it from had a small block Chevy and 4spd Muncie and a 12bolt with multiple leafs sitting in the garage ready to go in something else he was working on. So what I am thinking he took what he wanted and shipped it.

Thanks that makes a lot more sense now. What show it was built in 67?  Also I will look in the glove box. The only stickers I remember seeing were on the drivers door in the jam side and they were I believe old oil change reminders. I will post more pics but I have to size them down they are too big. Don't judge. She is rough right now.

Decoding/Numbers / 1968 Camaro Questions
March 19, 2019, 05:31:26 PM
I bought a 68 Project Camaro. Its an original V8 car. I attached the build plate picture. I am a bit confused. Its showing if I am reading correctly that the car was built the last week of September of 68. But the paint code is E. On this site I saw the E paint code was discontinued in January of 68.

Now Someone was racing this car and sprayed it some kind of orange I think in the 70s. But when I pulled off the cowl I could see it was the dark blue.
Also saw what looks to be a fair amount of white over spray? possibly it had white stripes?

I have some original interior parts. It was a metallically blue color. It has a console and is a 4spd manual car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
