I picked up a 1968 ss/rs Basket cass a few years back.  It's been sitting in the back of the garage now for a too long.  I am slowly pulling all the parts I need together.  The original engine is gone.  It is a 4 speed car with a Muncie and 12 bold rear end.  My plan is to put a 396 in it.  Looking for as close to original as I can find.  It will not be a vin matching block obviously.   She will be groto blue if I go back original.  I'd prefer lemans blue but we will see.  Looking for guidance here.  I believe the block casting number should be 3916323 or 3935440.  What about the heads?
