Title: 9204 brake booster stamp
Post by: latecode on July 02, 2012, 08:00:05 AM
Did all 9204 brake boosters have delco stamp in 69?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Thanks Latecode

Yes, they did, and the Julian date was stamped on the other side of the tab.

John, Ed, or Bill - can you tell me if this BB is correct for a 69 L48, 12A build?

Thanks

No, sorry Marty. The 1935 booster is a 1971 Chevelle application. Your's is dated 2030, or the 203rd day (July 22nd) of 1970.

Are you sure about that John? I have a 9204 from a 69 with a Julian date of 334 (had iit since 1986) and it doesn't have the Delco stamp.

Mike

Thanks Ed! That's interesting, 2nd item on my car that's off of a 71 Chevelle. Oh well, I'll just keep adding to that Christmas list.

Big time caution guys... If you ever intend to have your car sold by a second party, weld everything to the car! So far; BB, starter, alternator, wheels, radiator cap, RS light washer solenoid, air cleaner lid, and hood walked off of the car. I'm glad they didn't have enough time to yank the power train.  >:(

And the stamping was 'UPSIDE DOWN' at the 8 o'clock position

Ed - what numbers would work for my car? I think I'll try some horse trading over at the Chevelle site. ;)

I was referring to the Delco Moraine stamp at the 8 o'clock position

You need a 9204 booster Marty. I don't know what your build date is, so I can't comment on the time frame you need.

It's up there on #2 (12A).

Thanks

12A would mean a mid to late November, 1968 Julian date. Probably in the neighborhood of the 320's or 330's.

Not to add confusion but wasn't there 2 font sizes used in 69? I have a Julian date of 334 on the 9204 booster (no Delco stamp either) and the font size is approximately 1/8" in height. This booster must have come on an early build 69 model. The numbers in the images in this thread look smaller.
