Was there a position on the propecto plate in 69 to designate the JL8 option? Where would it be on the plate using the grid shown on CRG. Thanks
Yes, it would start at row B, column 15, and continue through column 21.
HERE'S (http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#POPCodes) more info on POP decoding, and HERE'S (http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#AxleCodes) the list of axle codes. (NOTE: If the table is blank on your screen under the "1967-1969 Camaro POP Option Fields" heading, just click, hold and drag your mouse in the table and it'll all show up. It's a bug in IE.

Ed that position is filled by the rear end code and date. None the less, looking at all the info on my plate I see now there is nothing to designate JL8 brakes.

That's correct. That's the only place on the POP that will tell you if the car originally came with 4 wheel disk brakes.
Ed
So Ed if the POP shows the rear coded for a JL8 rear, does that then confirm rear discs? So no separate coding except for the JL8 rear? Correct?
The rear axle code is the only code to designate wheel disc brakes on the POP.
What is the code listed on your POP?

Correct.

Argh, I thought I had that fixed!!
Firefox works just fine, but not IE 8. Not sure about IE 7, 9 or the beta 10 (or Safari either).

Got it. Thanks Ed. Dale its a QY code.
That would be a JL8 car with a 410 rear axle!
Frank, if Kurt hasn't already asked, he'll probably be contacting you shortly about your car for the database!
