Title: leaf springs
Post by: sixt9x33rs on October 19, 2011, 11:24:36 AM
I am re-arching my original springs and wanted to buy the original style spacers between the leafs...the originals are still in the springs at the moment. I can only find the roll type material for this. Anyone have an idea where to buy the more original style material?

The spacers are actually molded plastic.  If you have them all, then just reuse them.

Saw these at HBC, others probably carry them as well.  I've no idea on the "correctness":

The keeper on the spacer has to be trimmed off. They are the wrong size and shape will not fit in the holes. The clamp and rivets look and work great.

The spring shot has the same ones as the originals believe it or not. I will also save the originals that did not get destroyed over the years.

you can buy the correct antisqueek pads from Eaton with the rectangle protrusion just as the originals. Minimal cost to do it right.

Here are the ones James referred to! The ones from HBC state they are exact but nothing is exact on them.
http://www.eatonsprings.com/tipinsertsreboundclipsubolts.html  Part #33C133 2"X2.5" oblong cup $0.95 each. The issue is they have a min shipping/handling charge if I remember correctly and it was an ouch for such a small order.
