Title: 67 BB Water Pump Cover
Post by: big iron on May 10, 2011, 10:16:39 PM
Can anyone remember if the rear water pump cover was plated or plain steel? Plate should have rolled edges.

They were plain steel on '67 BB Corvettes.

JohnZ,
Just being curious, but when they judge a BB Vett, do they take off points for fully painted timing covers and rear of the water pump?
Thanks for the reply.

Most experienced judges will just make a "comment" on the judging sheet about "over-restoration" without taking a points deduction, so the owner is aware; I always make a comment if it's done correctly too, as you don't see many that are done like the engine plants did it.
