Would appreciate your opinion on what date should be on the water pump of a January 69 built car. Thanks!

The water pump casting date must precede the stamped engine assembly date; could be as little as a few days, up to a month or two.

My block is a J38 and the water pump J158, sound ok?  thanks for the help.

Terry, J 3 8 is the block casting date.  John is talking about the engine assembly date which is stamped on the engine pad.
