Does anyone know if GM had a slow-down period of casting the 3917291 heads? I've been looking for a set dated mid March 68, and it seems like there are lots of 67 castings and 68 May-June, but Jan Feb and March 68 castings are almost non existant.

Try Tracy Performance in MI? He has lots of castings and dates. Not cheap though.

Have a D3 8 bare casting - 1 only.. Close but no cigar..

Thanks, my trim tag says 04A(1st week of April 08) so engine would have been assembled probably 3rd or 4th week of March 68.
