Is there a way to trace all the registered owners of a car using the VIN?

If you're up to a lot of good old-fashioned detective work, starting with the previous owner and working your way back from there, yes. some state DMV's may be helpful, most will not. There's no place/site I'm aware of where you can plug in the VIN and get any previous owner information.

We (CRG) maintain a private database that has basic configuration history on several thousand 1st-gen Camaros, and your car may or may not be in the database; post your VIN and cowl tag data and Kurt can check for you.

I found the partial VIN behind the blower motor but I was unable to find it by the oil filter. Were all blocks stamped?
The front of my block is stamped V1003DZ

The car was on ebay back Feb 2008 in TX. Showed up again Sept 08, but with a BIN of $15K. Nothing before that.
I have a not so great pic of the pad, but it looks reasonable.
Is the trans original?

Thanks for the information. By the numbers stamped on the housing I woulld say no

P0622 (there might be another number after this but I can't make it out

Does you database link with ebay? How did you know it was on ebay? What is BIN?

Yeah, by me manually recording the seller, location, VIN, all the tag info, drivetrain codes, options, etc.

Thanks Kurt. Sounds like a lot of work. Do your recrord show if it sold and any record of the seller or buyer?
