Title: Valve covers Timing covers and Balancers how are they

How do I figure out the origin (s) of the following??
Valve Covers SBC and BBC
Timing Covers SBC and BBC
Balancers SBC and BBC
I appreciate this info from you guys!!

Can anyone gimme a hand so to speak on the identification of early BBC timing covers??
Have 5-7  covers and only one has a timing tab still on it. Did GM ever come out with a chrome cover??
Maybe later we could go on with the rest, but, I am in the BBC stuff at the moment and these things have been painted with spray cans over n' over..  Are there ways to figure out the different pans??

Best is to post pics and get opinions.  searching ebay for matching ones also helps
