Title: 68 Z/28 nos valve covers
Post by: Ron C. on August 21, 2009, 05:27:47 PM
Back in 1983 I bought GM 68 z28 valve covers, they are new in the original boxes and I noticed some that are on ebay have the O stamping on them.My covers that I bought from my local chevy dealer in 1983 do not have that O stamping. Was that a factory stamping only and not a part stamping? ???

Careful with "NOS" '68 Z/28 rocker covers. At some point Chevy substituted chromed '69 covers, one of which has an oil fill cap.

I just checked the original valve covers on my '68 Z/28; both of them have the "O" stamped in the center of the top sealing flange.    :)

Jerry do you know anything about this O thingy LOL. Why a nos part would not have a O stamping? Also these do not have the oil fill hole.here are the pics
