I have A 68 Converible and the trim tag reads:
Special Mask
Special Paint
Special Order
Has anyone ever hear of this and is there any way of knowing why it was marked this way?
Thanks patnd2
Here is A pic of the vin number:
I assume it's on a red SS350 car?
I've seen that tag before. The only thing that comes to mind is that the body was a service part.
Does it have the partial VIN's on the body?
Yes it is on A red car. I just bought this car, it is marked ss but I don't belive its A real ss.
I have not looked to see what the partial #'s read yet.
What can I learn from the partails?
Mainly if the body has partial VINs on it.
Here's a bigger picture of your tag.
The tag was discussed before on the old version of this forum, but that's not accessible right now. It didn't have a lot of info from what I recall.
10 or 12 bolt? Do you know the axle code (or engine code)?

It is A 10 bolt, I will try and get the axle code. The engine is not the original so that won't help. How long ago was this car on this forum?
Back in 2003.
So, Back in 2003 was anyting figured out? Like where the car came from or why it has this type of trim tag?
As I said above, the thread didn't have a lot of info in it.
i don't like the look of those rivets holding the tag?
the one on the right is a hardware store rivet...
