Can't find restoration piece for these lenses in my cluster. Anybody else had this issue before? Any great ideas to correct?
Any help would me great.
Mike
Well, I know the low fuel film is not repro'd. I have a 68 with one and have seen them on e-bay before, very expensive. I am looking at selling my console, tach and fuel lens at some time in the future, but not yet. As far as the high beam, I think it's just a plain red film isn't it? You could just cut out a piece of red film to fit for that.
That's what I figured. Thank you.
Mike
You wouldn't possibly have a picture of the low fuel lens would you?

Where can I get ED?
Also ED I'm thinking for the highbean light also in the middle of the cluster. I don't have the bulb mount so I am fabricating one of those. However I still need the blue lens.
Ideas? Have a pic of the bulb mount that I can replicate?
Thanks for all your help!!!!
Mike

No where that I know of. I don't think it's being reproduced as of yet. You would have to get a used speedometer on ebay that was paired with the gauges.

I think you're in the same boat here. Used or just make one yourself.

ED.
How close to scale is the picture?
Thanks for the picture, great shot!

I think it's a little big, but it's hard to tell. If it
IS big, it's not by much!

Yes....but I wont be able to find the low fuel label unless they have a Tach.. The fuel gauge side wouldn't have this, only a Tach side.
Thanks for the lead though...
Mike
Guys,
What I did was to use the "oil/brake" lense. I removed the "oil" lettering with Goof Off or something of that nature. Then I went to the hobby shop and bought some black rub on lettering that was about the same size as the "BRAKE" fount. I then applied the word "FUEL" to the lense. It is not for the purest, I know, but it will serve the purpose and most people would'nt know it's not factory. The other option would be to buy or make some peel and stick lettering. Place the word "FUEL" on the lense. Mask and paint black. Remove lettering and you have red letters with a black background. Just a suggestion.

Oh yah. Rick's used to sell used lenses for around $50.00. That's been several years ago, and the price is why I did what I did. I'm not sure if they have any or not, but you might check with them if you have'nt already done that.

With a Speedo and Tach.....what should the lens read in my 67?
Mike
O yeah....Originaly the speedo had OIL and BRAKE #6457871 and the fuel gauge had GEN and TEMP #6457874.
Finally, I took the lens out of the highbeam plug in the middle of the dash gauge assembly and it is "RED"? Is that correct? Thought it was to be blue.
Thank you so much for the help....
Mike
Red is correct.
