This is probably a restamped block. The engine assembly code (K0412DHR) listed in the auction is not correct for first generation Camaros. A quick search on Google shows the engine suffix code (DHR) is for a 1981 305cid engine.

Nope, I think it's an original. Original to a 79 Camaro. :)
DRH is a 79 350.

Kurt -
So is the partial VIN (19N596998) wrong? ???
Paul
No. It's correct.
The format of the partial VIN didn't change. It just tells you the year, not the decade.
A picture of the engine block would show it has a short engine pad.
Thanks Kurt, I didn't know that. In fact, I didn't know they made the Camaro after 1969! ;D
So based on the partial VIN, the seller made a typo when he wrote "DHR" instead of "DRH". :(

Another quick tell tale sign without knowing any of the numbers is the 2 bolt mains.

Nope, you would need to know that the block casting
number was 3970010 for that to be true. There were other '69 Camaro small block engines (307cid, 327cid) with different block casting
numbers that had two bolt main caps.
Paul
Paul you are correct, I was not paying enough attention, I'm so used to seeing "DZ" (the quotes around the DZ are for sarcasim ;D) blocks being advertised in this section I assumed that's what this auction was advertising which after reading carefully it is not.
