What would be the correct outside mirror code for a 69 with an 02 D build. Thank you.
I would think Dec 68 or Jan 69 would be good but could even have Feb 69 since it's 4th week IMO.
Paragon has a pretty good reproduction and they'll even date the glass!
My 02D Norwood Z/28 has its original D33 remote mirror (including the little drain slot), and it's dated "9 DMI 8" (September, 1968).

Is it typicial for the non-remote mirrors to be dated that early? Also, have you ever seen a mirror with DCA & a little R in a circle right after the A between the numbers?
I have a 1968 Z28 with a build date of 07C and the mirror date is 7DMI8. That's close together!

Read this CRG thread for the date code on my original remote mirror on my '68 RS Z/28...

Hi Ed -
Wow! Thanks for the detailed info and photos. I had to go look at my mirror again after reading your post and yes there is a date code on mine (I never noticed it :-[ ). The code on mine is:
12-DMI-7
Based on your example above my date code translates to December 1967. Is that correct?

Paul, your car is a 12D correct?

Incorrect, it's 02C.

Thanks Paul, for some reason I thought yours was the same build as mine.
So then a February date would be OK in everyone's opinion?

I can't imagine how anyone could argue with a February-dated mirror on an 02D car.

Must have made the mirrors in batches; my Oct 68 10B Z has same date; 9DMI8

My 3E has a 10 - 68 (10 DMI 8 ) remote mirror on it, So maybe a date lag for remotes.
My 03d car has the original 12 DMI 8 mirror.
Thanks to everyone for the help. I ordered one through Paragon.

Any info on this? Observed on later GM replacement mirrors.
We believe DCA is Donnelly Corporation of America. Donnelly changed names a few times over the years and Donnelly Corp was one of them starting in 1984. The R in a circle is a "Registered" trade mark.
Ed
Thanks Ed that makes sense as I always see it on the ones in the "newer" GM boxes. I just always wondered if the glass had been replaced or something because the boxes were always previously opened!

My 12B X22 Nor. has 12 DMI 8 D33 option
