I have seen 69 cars with power disc brakes that have a master cylinder other than the "309" . My car had one like this in the picture. The car in the picture has been the original owner since 74. Is it possible some these were used at the factory. Was it common for this part to fail and have to be replaced so soon? Just wondering. ???
Thanks CRG

Some early 69's used the 1968 casting #5460346 master cylinder - what's the casting number on yours?
Thanks John, I knew you would know the answer. I'll have to look out in the garage at my old one. Mine looked like the one in the picture but my car was built 2D in 69. I bought a "309" to put back on it.
Mike
That one sure looks like an aftermarket replacement to me.

Hi Mike -
If yours is like the one in the photo, it isn't a 5460346 either.
Paul
Hello Paul, yes it looks similar. I'll get a picture tomorrow. I must be an aftermarket then.
Thanks
MIke
That's a Bendix replacement,
