Title: 69 Z header panel emblem placement to rally stripe
Post by: NanDog on December 03, 2008, 10:19:25 PM
My Z is in the shop right now for new paint but after stripping it, it seems there's been two sets of mount holes for the Camaro emblem on the front header panel (it was painted once before, in 1977, and I'm wondering if the guy that did that job didn't lay down the stripes correctly and moved the emblem).  My current paint guy used to work for a local Chevy dealer back in the late '60s and early '70s and swears that the Camaro emblem touched the thin outside stripe.

I've seen photos where that's true and also a lot of photos where the emblem is close, but not touching, the stripe.

What's right?

Thanks!

Here's a photo of my untouched original - it's about 1/4" from the stripe.

Unrestored 04C... stripe is 6 inches from the edge of the header panel...
