Title: Proper seam sealer or filler for body lines around tail panel, etc.
Post by: sdkar on November 14, 2008, 12:59:49 AM
I was wondering, what is the proper filler or seam sealer to use around the perimeter of the tailllight panel, the lower rear valance where it meets the qtr panels and on each end of the filler panel that goes between the trunk lid and the rear glass?  I would like to use whatever is correct and will not crack later on after getting it painted.

Also, Ithere is a seam in the rain gutters as well.  Would I use the same type of seam sealer or filler as recommended in the other gaps.  Remember that these are areas that will be painted the same color as the exterior of the car and be seen.

That's standard vinyl plastisol body seam sealer.

The seam sealer does not go all the way to the bottom of the tail pan, it stops just below the bumper...

I found this at Eastwood...is this what I want to buy?  If not, does Eastwood sell what I am looking for and what part # I would need?
