Title: Bumpers
Post by: Nate Biery on May 13, 2008, 08:32:02 AM
Do original GM bumpers have a part number? I assume yes. Was it stamped into the bumper? If so where would I look?

Thanks

My 67 still has GM sticker on front bumper and reads: 3929954. At bottom of sticker in smaller letters it reads: 2008H5. I've owned this car since 1984.   Scott

Production bumpers didn't have the part number stamped into them, and didn't have GM stickers - the stickers were only on Service parts.

Yes he is. Thanks to the both of you. At least the service number is something to look for.

Well, while you are looking...
3929954 was a service part replacement # for the 67-68 front bumper face, but the 10/67 P&A34 revised gives an earlier # of 3886690.
The rear # was 3886603.
