Just purchased a smog pump assembly from an original 6cyl 1969 Camaro sold new in Toronto. I thought Canadian cars only had smog pumps on Z28's, L78's and L72's?
I think any camaro with a standard trans in the first generation had a smog setup .Correct me if I am incorrect.
This car did have a 3spd saganaw

I know from mine that '68 Z28 models were exempt as imported into Canada in that year from the typical smog equipment setup (pump etc) that was required in the US.
I'm trying to recall - I think it was code something like KD1 which designated the Canadian Smog Exemption - and was quoted on my GM Canada Vintage Car Services documentation.

There was no difference in the smog systems on '69 Camaros sold new in Canada - they were equipped exactly the same as Camaros sold in the U.S.; the only difference on '69 Camaros sold in Canada was the oil change recommendation sticker, GM of Canada owner's manual, and bi-lingual warranty folder.

Here's the info: http://www.camaros.org/emissions.shtml
All 396 Camaros did have smog systems, In the case of 396 Chevelles, some 396s w/automatic transmissions did not have smog. Covered this in my Camaro fact books too and I have an original GM chart in my 67-68 Camaro book.

Some full-size 396 autos didn't get the smog either.
